Nintendo has shared more details about Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which is out on Nintendo Switch 2 next month.
“There’s more than sports to discover on Wuhu Island! In addition to 12 sports featuring intuitive motion controls, you can freely explore the island, chase dolphins in the ocean, search for hidden hibiscus flowers and collect Spocco Photos to learn more about sightseeing spots around the resort,” the company outlined in a press release.
“A new offline Island Crown mode lets you rise through the ranks in each sport to challenge Island Champions and even Island Legends. Also, playing any sport in any mode earns Spocco Points, which can be exchanged for customisations to personalise your Mii character or Sportsmate.”
Welcoming you back to Wuhu Island, after creating a Mii character or Sportsmate, you will be encouraged to get up and moving with intuitive motion controls that use Joy-Con 2 controllers in a variety of ways – whether that be rackets, bows or even handlebars – across 12 sports.
Whether playing solo or teaming up with or challenging friends and family, you can compete in new and returning sports such as Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf and Thumb Wrestling. There are also leisure sports like Skateboarding (which uses Joy-Con 2 mouse controls), Power Cruising and Prop Plane, as well as the chance to do some warm-ups with Jump Rope.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 on 22 October 2026.
