EA Sports has released NHL 27 update 1.005.001 today, and while this is considered a minor patch, it does bring something new to the ice.

The main addition today is the Fanatics NHL Hometown Remix, which adds 32 new jersey editions just for fans.

NHL 27 Fanatics Hometown Remix Content Added on November 2

All Fanatics NHL Hometown Remix jerseys have been automatically added to every World of Chel player’s inventory. HUT players can also pick one of 32 Remix jerseys from a choice pack, with more jerseys available in the store or by completing HUT moments.

Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT)

• Free Hometown Remix Choice Pack: Claim a free Choice Pack from the HUT Store and select one Hometown Remix jersey from all 32 NHL teams.

• Claim Deadline: The free Choice Pack must be claimed by December 31, 2026.

• Additional Jerseys: Earn or acquire additional Hometown Remix jerseys through the Store and Moments.

• Launch-Night HUT Moments: Special challenges inspired by three real-world NHL matchups featuring home teams wearing their Hometown Remix uniforms:

  • Detroit Red Wings at Florida Panthers

  • Colorado Avalanche at Chicago Blackhawks

  • Calgary Flames at San Jose Sharks

World of Chel (WoC)

• All 32 Fanatics NHL Hometown Remix jerseys are automatically granted when players first log in after the update.

• No objectives or additional unlock requirements are needed.

• Jerseys are available for both Casual and Club customization.

• Casual player jerseys can be claimed through the WoC Store.

• Claim Deadline: The Fanatics NHL Hometown Remix jerseys must be claimed by December 31, 2026.

• Hometown Remix is also featured in the main menu, with the featured player wearing the jersey matching the selected favorite team.

When it comes to bugs, there are still a handful that hasn’t been eliminated by the devs.

Gameplay and Performance

• Game crashes during Online Versus matches, returning players to the console dashboard.

• True Broadcast Legacy experiences frame-rate drops and stuttering in certain arenas, particularly Pittsburgh.

• Xbox Series S experiences frame drops approximately 30 seconds before the end of periods in World of CHEL 3v3 and 6v6.

• Switching players after losing a faceoff can reportedly trigger an incorrect interference penalty.

• Manual line changes in Play Now and automatic line changes in HUT Cup Chase reportedly behave incorrectly.

Online and Connectivity Issues

• World of CHEL matchmaking failures prevent players from starting 3v3, 6v6, and Live Event matches.

• Online Versus matchmaking difficulties affect players in the Far East region following the transition to dedicated servers.

• World of CHEL players experience disconnects, high ping, and matchmaking with players in distant regions.

• Failed to Retrieve Data errors affect access to online modes.

Modes and Other Issues

• Connected Franchise crashes after free-agent simulations or when managing custom-roster leagues.

• Franchise Mode freezes when editing lines and playbooks from the team-selection screen.

• Xbox Series X Quick Resume can cause the game to freeze on the ice-loading screen when loading a season.

• Be a Pro stick tape selections fail to save when entering a game.

• Visual glitches include invisible logos and other graphical issues.

• HUT experiences desynchronization during offline Wildcard matches.

As far as we’re aware, there are no gameplay-related changes made with today’s patch. But if EA releases a proper changelog detailing any, we’ll let our readers know.
